Breeds of Horses
Cave drawings suggest that modern horses evolved from equids, with robust heads and upright manes. Horses were domesticated between 3000 and 4000 B.C. in Central Asian steppes, used for meat and milk, and eventually as pack animals. Oxens were used for plowing around 4000 B.C.
